Weird question: is there a way I can virtualize Prime so that I can do graphic development on my mac in my office? I ask because we have 1 Xpression Prime, and it's installed in our production truck. It's Montana. It's a tad cold here. I'd rather not spend the day freezing as I'm trying to make new shiny pretty things. Can we? Is that possible?

I would recommend a Windows machine to run the software (doesn't work too well in virtualized environments as it needs direct access to the GPU hardware). You could install the Prime software on any other windows PC, but you would need to physically move the XPression dongle between the machines to allow the software to run.

Alternatively you could look at purchasing a copy of XPression designer which is a lower cost offline version of XPression for designing your graphics which you would then copy over to the production machine in the truck.

We use "designer" on a mac with a virtual PC in my office since the control room is 7 floors up and on the opposite side of the arena. It works like a charm. The two machines are on a network so bouncing files back and forth is very easy. We also keep a master copy of our NBA game session on the network just in case there is a problem with the original file.
