I am brand new to Datalinq. I was walked through the process a month or so ago, but I clearly forgot something.

In this instance, have the benefit of having the previous version of the project from the client and the excel spreadsheet they used. I am to essentially take the new version of these scenes (data fields and such are the same, just some new unrelated functionality has been added).

I have a datalinq server setup, named the same, and pointing to the exact spreadsheet I need.

I have the old project open on one machine and the new one open on another next to it, and have been copying the datalinq info from each object in the old project to the corresponding object in the new project (using logitech flow to allow copy / paste across computers).

Everything seems to be going fine, until I go to sequencer to test. The template data in the old scene which has Datalinq properties has a little key icon next to it, where as in the new scenes, they do not. Instead, i get the datalinq properties panel and in the values column (Excel is the name of the server).

So, what step have I missed. When comparing the objects, everything seems to be identical, yet clearly it is not.

    Any help appreciated

Ah, I discovered the key is the datalinq key. So, now I at least have things mostly workling as they should... I say mostly because although the data is filling in as it should, the player image is not. Now, I can see in Sequencer the material face property for my Player Headshot quad is pointing to exactly the correct file path, yet, I see nothing where the image should be on the graphic. That's kind or perplexing. The Table info is SELECT [HEADSHOT] FROM [%H or V%_ROS] WHERE NUM = "%Jersey%" So, it SEEMS everything should be in order. Any idea what might be the issue?

I found a missing backslash in the Excel document pointing to the file. It seems to find the sub-folder on its own, and I'm sure there is a reason, but hey! its working as it should now
    Yay!
