We have starting using Xpression this week and even though we have had some bugs on our side, one is still bugging us. In our Active X Client, I am unable to change the picture through it. When I find the picture (which is from the Xpression Computer) it doesn't show up and I still see the picture I have for the template. Anyone have ideas on how to fix this? We have changed the path of how our desktop computers access the Xpression but no luck.

Chris, please check if in the scene the quad you mean is published. Go to XPression machine where the project is loaded, find the scene, select your quad, open Template Links tab in Object Inspector and look for "Publish" check box, and also make sure its material is published as well.

Yes it is published...I have the materials, scale, and position published for the quad. Its when I try to select a picture to put in through my active X, I don't see the picture I want when I would bring it up for my show.

Are you just not seeing it correctly in plugin? Or does it also go to air incorrectly as well? I'm assuming you are using mapped network drives for the content as well. Please ensure that the folder is mapped as the same drive letter to your output engine, preview engine and all of your newsroom workstations.

Yeah we are not seeing it correctly in the plugin or when we try to take it to air. I have had engineering change the letter of the Xpression. We are grabbing the content from the Xpression also...would that be the problem? Should we have a separate drive and just map it correctly to all of the three above?

You should have a mapped drive such as X: (or whatever) that all the XPression Engines and the MOS Gateway and plugins point to. They must all be mapped to the same folder on whatever shared storage you are using. So if you select X:GraphicsMyImage.TGA in the plugin then all machines must be able to find the same image by using the same path X:GraphicsMyImage.TGA..

Thank you guys, after brain storming with my engineers we came up with that same suggestion you just gave Brian. The one problem we do have right now, is we don't see it in the preview of our active x client. Do we have to match the IP address of our Rendering engine with our Preview engine?

Chris, is the XPression Preview Render Engine also mapped to the same shared folder with the same path? The preview engine is likely running on the same unit as the XPression MOS Gateway.

Ok thanks, Garner. Sorry it took so long, I was out on some vacation. I will tackle looking at that when our engineer returns from vacation also
