  • 1.  Gradient Color for Quad

Hi, I am new fish with Xpression, and I find it difficult to adjust a gradient color for a quad, there are light sources, diffuse, ambient... channels. If the producer wants to change that gradient color quick, instead of doing this in Xpression, I have to open Photoshop to make change then update it in Xpression. Any advice for this inconvience? I have seen the video about Material in Xpression U but it doesn't help. Please advise, many thanks!

Its easy. Make a new material. Then add a "New Shader" (blue dot) and go down to gradient. It then turns the material into a 4 corner gradient and you can edit the gradient there. I hope this helps

Hello, I am also new to XPression and my question about Gradients is can you tell me how to make a Radial gradient pattern?

There is no way to make a radial gradient within XPression. I'd recommend generating it in PS or AE with as a black (or white depending on if you're looking to ramp up or down) grad with transparency falloff instead of color, make a material in XPression with that as a texture, duplicate the quad (or whatever you're using) with the underlying color you want, and apply this new material to the copy lower in the hierarchy, adjusting the opacity of this overlay as needed. If working in a 3D scene, it will be necessary to move the grad object forward in Z space by a small amount to avoid co-planar tearing.
