I wanted to pass along a bit of info from our Overdrive team, which was a response to a similar question I had as a trainer:
"While we don't officially support any form of additional keyboard, we do have many users using devices like these with no issue, and it is generally safe to use one as long as no USB extension or hub is required to connect it."
Also:
"The other thing to specifically watch for is the CPU usage when the drivers are running for the keyboard device."
