Hey!!! Thanks for the help in advance!

We are using an Xpression box as a still store for one of our morning shows. The way we do that is by creating 100 sequencer Take Items and pointing their material to a networked folder where a producer drops in images. We make sure the producer names the elements 101, 102, etc, and that way we can replace the same 100 elements everyday and they auto refresh. Then its just calling up whichever still we need and it automatically dissolves live on air to the next selected still.

This workflow was ideal for a few years, but now some things have changed. A new show we are doing is live to broadcast instead of live to internet. With this larger, live production, we have the problem of a stills operator constantly entering incorrect numbers, which then call up the incorrect still image. Its not from incompetence, but more from adrenaline during a live production.

Our brainstorming solution is what if every time she enters a Take ID number, it automatically alternates between output channels? That way, every still she calls up falls into the "other" channel. We wouldnt be able to preset which frame buffer each Take Item is assigned to, because if she goes out of order and skips an image, it would replace the one already on air, which we dont want.

The more I articulate what we are trying to do, the more it seems like its not possible, but its worth asking. Thanks!

Should be doable. Setup a counter widget to keep track of which channel is next, put a script on the "take" button (or any other button) to take the graphic to the corresponding channel, then increment the widget.

I've also seen one place setup user keys to take a graphic to a particular channel. Director just had to call out what he wanted on which channel.
