I have just installed a Blackmagic card in my PC. (Decklink Studio)

It appears in the Control Panel Device Manager - Blackmagic Driver under Sound, video, and game controllers

So it seems to be installed OK

In Expression how do I configure this as an output

Have (after restart) gone into Hardware Setup ... Add

I get the usual options :

    XPresssion RossLinq Connector

    XPression Virtual Input

    XPression Virtual Output

    but no Blackmagic

What do I need to do ???

    Thanks

    Joe

    Hi Joe,

The blackmagic, matrox, aja options will appear in the list even if the hardware is not detected on your system. Since you don't see them in the list I'm going to guess that you are running XPression "Designer" edition?

Designer does not support SDI video outputs. You require XPression Studio, Prime, or Bluebox edition for real video outputs.

This chart will show you the different editions, and you will see that Designer and Developer editions support only "Virtual" outputs. http://www.rossvideo.com/pdf/cutsheets/xpression/xpression_series_product_comparison.pdf

Thanks Brian for getting back so quickly

I suppose there is a cost involved in upgrading the license ??

I had noticed some differencies between virtual and video ouputs (with scripting)

so I was trying to simulate Studio conditions remotely ...
