  • 1.  How do you replicate photoshop-esque layer effects in Xpressions?

Hello, I'm wondering if it is possible to replicate photoshop layer effects like "Soft Light", "Pin Light", "Overlay", etc? I noticed that there is a color blending tab in the material edit menu, but I'm not quite getting to replicate those similar photoshop effects.

Also, how would I create a clipping mask to a particular material?

Here is how I do it.

first layer shows the texture (pic) the other layer shows an alpha matte used to soften the edge on the bottom of the head shot.

So that's sourcing from the same image file, right?

Yes, both the image files in the picture above have embedded alpha.

@OPhoto There are two different image files. Both have alpha channels. But because the material changed with each game, and because I didn't want to modify the alpha for every single NBA referee, I opted with a second layer that did the work for me. Plus this gives all three headshots a uniform look.
