    There MUST be a way... So... I'm in the process of setting up a rather complex system for automating alot of the graphics part and such...

    However, being Norwegian, we happen to have three more letters in our alphabet than you guys do...

    Á†, Á˜ and Á…...

    So... Here's my problem...

    • In DashBoard, I get the names of my teams players from an XML file (works just fine, shows up with the special characters etc...
    • I can access the Parameter just fine with DataLinq.
    • Xpression set up with DataLinq works just fine... Until...
    • Until I get a player with one of those letters in his name. Instead of the actual character, I get gibberish instead!

      I did some testing, and using the HTML codes to provide the special character codes for this works. However that just seems too complicated for me.
      Having &Aelig; Ø and Å as Á†Á˜Á… seems a bit wierd...
      Seeing as Xpression and ROSS are worldwide basically and I suppose they dont want to limit themselfs to the english speaking world ONLY. I guess you have some way of letting in special characters?

      I suppose I COULD build a task/function that will look through the paramter, and replace the special chars with their code equivalent in a different paramter that is not visible in DashBoard, but... This has to be in there somewhere. Like a UTF-8 declaration or something! I just cant find it... Help please!

    Hi
    I had the same issue.
    You need to put this line in the Dashboard.ini file within the Dashboard folder
    -Dfile.encoding=UTF-8

    If you are on XPression v6.7 or above you should now be ok, else you'll need a new datalinq module from Ross.
    If you re-install Dashboard or update it, remember to put that line back in the ini file.

    @bford Dashboard version 8.3.1 - Xpression version: 6.5

    @simonl I guess that means I have to upgrade somehow, or make a workaround...

    If you are on 6.5 you need to upgrade to at least this version:
    version 6.5 build 3602 (August 9th 2016) [improved] the dashboard datalinq plugin now supports UTF-8 encoding

    If you are on 6.7 you need at least this version:

    version 6.7 build 3708 (August 5th 2016)
    [improved] the dashboard datalinq plugin now supports UTF-8 encoding

    @astalsberg techsupport@rossvideo.com

    You could also go to version 7.
    Make sure to ask for the latest QA version of 6.5 or latest 6.7. You don't need the specific builds that Bford posted, just builds above the ones posted.

    @garner I'm kinda running short on time to test new versions etc now. I can easilly write a function to replace special characters with RegEX as well for now.
    Though once I get some more time, I'll get in touch with support. Thanks again for the help! :)
