  • 1.  Datalinq message that an Excel spreadsheet is read-only, despite that not being true

    title pretty much says it all. I have a spreadsheet from a client to connect to a project with Datalinq, but cannot get past the set-up phase, as upon hitting 'test connection' I get an error message that the 'Object or Database is read only', well no, no it isn't... permissions on the .xls indicate it can be opened and edited by anyone, so I am at a loss...

    Did you enable sharing on the xls worksheet in excel?

    I saw Toomey's tutorial on that subject, but I'm using an older version of Excel (2010), and haven't found where that setting lives.

    HOWEVER, this was sent to us directly by the client, and is the workbook they have and do use with these same templates, so I feel like that setting should have already been handled.
