  • 1.  Visual Logic to change specular colors off of datalinq data

    Hey Guys,

I'm trying to setup a Visual Logic sequence where if I get a value from a datalinq source, such as a "*" then the specular color of a material will change to the diffuse color of a color swatch that has already been configured inside of XPression as a global material. I'm using XPression 6.2

This what I did for a shotclock change. I'm sure you can adapt it.

Mal, what version of XPression are you using? I do not have that same Selector Block option.

I'm having trouble getting that to work. What I am trying to do is -> if datalinq source = string value "*" then the specular color of an arrow = diffuse of primary color swatch. If not, then specular color of an arrow = black.

I'm working on 6.5 and it opened up alot of blocks in Visual Logic. Could you pre-make the two states of the arrow as materials and then just replace the material? I don't know what all was made available with 6.5 so it's hard to try and figure out another way. I thought have been around for quite a while. The string compare should be easy, but the Selector basically does the switching for you.
