    Hello,

we're using Xpression Prime with an Intel i7 3930K 6 Core System with 16 GB Ram and Windows 7 64bit - our Data ist on an very fast SSD and we use a Nvidia GTX660TI for Picture and an Decklink 4k Extreme for Output @1080i50

Most of our Shows use an Video File for Background Grafics and an Wav File for an Audio Clip.

Our Problem is that it has performance issues - Performance on the Prime System goes up to 100-120%. CPU and Memory Load on the System itself only uses 10-15%.

We leads us to the problem that the Audio File stutters a little bit on the start and the video also is slow for a short moment.

Any Ideas why this could happen ? I tryed a few things adding more Buffer or or Delay but nothing works.

For the Future we want to setup an spare system - any regards on changing our system specs posted up there ?

    Hi Dirk,

Do you have an adapter assigned for the hardware renderer?

    Edit > Preferences > Hardware Renderer > Adapter > NVidia GTX 660

Is the NVidia card set to maximum performance?

Start > Control Panel > NVidia Control Panel > Manage 3D Settings > Global Settings > Power management mode > Prefer maximum performance

Is the background video file encoded in the XPression video codec? Are you using additional video files besides the background video at the same time?

How many outputs are you using, and inputs?

    Hello,

i tryed it a few times with and without the gtx as render. there wasnt a real difference.

i tryed this power management which seems to help a little bit.

just found out that the videocard is only and gtx 650 - but our slower system works fine with an gtx8800 which is much older and faster.

we only use one output and no input.

background videos are encoded in xpression codec and we use also an wav file for audio at the same time

How many real cores do you have in in your system?

Disable forced overclocking in the bios (in the early days it was called Hyper Threading)

I had the same issue...after i disable these settings in the bios...it goes like a rocket

Hopefully this works also for you

    sadly it didnt helped.

    we use a 980x i7 with 6 cores or an i7 3930k

we have an animation with 3-4 video files as layer. animations with 1 layer produces 40-50% load in the programm.

    Hi Dirk,

I can only recommend to try and crop the videos. Very often I get videofiles that are delivered as full frame videos with only a lower third on it. If you then have to use multiple videos in the same scene it can get too much for XPression.

So I always crop them down to the size that they actually are. That works for me.

I do the same... I only use cropped videofiles and graphics.

Version 5.0 fixed a lot of the performance issues. We even added an GTX670 and lowered the performance spikes on the system down from 85 to 60%.
