    Hi there,

I'm a little confused with how to correctly save metadata to my logo tiff file. I'm attempting to add metadata to my logo files so that data like tricodes, colours, etc can change when a logo is changed. My problem is that metadata that I save to a project in photoshop/bridge is not reading in xpression. I've attached a logo that I am attempting to use.

Please let me know what I am doing incorrectly, as metadata will make my graphics package so much more efficient.

The problem is Bridge CC 2017...if i do the same in Bridge CC (6.0) it works!
It looks like Adobe have change something...is there a maybe a way to change that? So XPression would be compatible with CC2017 too?

    keerthikau,

I downloaded your image and looked at it in Bridge CC (2017). It looks great. I see that you created a sample schema and must have also created your own custom file info panel for Adobe. Awesome!

The data appears fine in Adobe Bridge 2017 and Xpression for me, maybe just your workflow in XPression might not have been clear? I got it to work, using your schema and data. I noticed that Jurgen was testing your sample, assuming you had used my schema rather than your own. Brian and I tested it, and it works. Made a quick video to show how I used it and also displayed the workflow in Adobe Bridge CC (2017) on a PC for you to see. https://www.dropbox.com/s/kpjivd4m97...stion.mp4?dl=0

Take a look and see if there is anything different in the way I executed the process in XPression than you did. Let me know what you find.

    Hi Patrick,

I've explored different files and found that the Xpression on my system doesn't seem to read any metadata, unless it's packaged and brought in from a different system. I can't even import your test images (from the tutorial file) into my Xpression as it gives me a blank screen. I'm running version 6.1 and it seems to be a problem with images as a whole and not a specific one that I have built.

    Thanks,

    Keerthika

Hi, i have made a lot of testings tonight and found something that is interesting!
XPression made a distinction in how the material was created, what means, if i create a texture MATERIAL->NEW->MATERIAL->ADD TEXTURE SHADER etc .... the metadata can be read.
BUTT when i create a texture like: MATERIAL->NEW->IMAGE .... the metadata cannot be read.
Please try if this make sense on your site.

I see what you mean. Will add it to the list of things to review.

I believe that the XPression Development team may have addressed this metadata issue in the latest nightly build.
