Hey, another quick question - we have a credit roll and we want to mask it so that it only appears on the bottom third of the screen and doesn't take over the whole screen but it seems that masks do not affect the credit roll?

You should be able to do it by making mask material on rectangle to cover up the text once it scrolls to a certain point. The Z position for the mask object must be higher than the z position for the scrolling text. Also, change the Render Order Priority for the text to "Normal" (instead of "Text On Top" default).

Dominic, search for the forum post called "How do you Mask a Crawl" and you'll even find a sample project in there to show how to do it.

The sample project is missing. Would you please repost it? Thanks very much!

It's really easy to do that.
On your scenegroup (because your mask don't have to move), put your mask to a Z-Position, like 1.
On your children scene, put your text object at 0 (ZPos) and change its Render Order Priority to Normal.

    And voilÁ  !

Just make sure not to use layer object for the masks or this will mess you up.
