My school is getting ready to install XPression and we do a lot of live sports both in our studio and in our Production Truck. We've been using Chyron Lyric in Lyric 7.1 for our score bugs and have programmed macros to do our score bug actions (scores, timeouts, shots, etc.). What would be the XPression equivalent to doing this?

If your school uses Daktronics scoring equipment, you can tap into the Dactronics scoring machine using the Daktrnics All Sport Character Generator. You can use this to pull all the info that the official scorer inputs (score, fouls, timeouts, etc). For the other things, if your at a University, you can use the XML output from StatCrew to populate more advanced statistics.

I teach Sports Broadcasting at a University with an Xpression Prime Single Channel. We have a second graphics operator dedicated to the score bug. The score bug operator uses a Dashboard Panel running on a second computer (windows surface) to update score, fouls, time, etc. They can also trigger the Xpression Computer to animate the score bug off and on using Ross Talk. This frees up our primary Graphics Operator to focus on lower thirds, full screens, etc. Recently we added a Daktronics All Sport which uses Datalink to directly update our score bug without an operator.
