  • 1.  Insert Font Change Macro - could it be added to the MOS plugin?

    Hello,

I just discovered the Insert Font Change Macro button, where you can insert font numbers, eg {23} and so forth into the text to change font mid-text field. We had been adding those codes by hand. So having a button is a cool feature so that the staff don't have to memorize the codes.

It would be more usable, if it could be added to the Xpression MOS plugin so that the newsroom staff can add codes from Inception/iNews/Qseries. The majority of my work is with sequences generated by MOS, so I prefer to make changes inside Inception. If I make a change from the Xpression sequence itself, it can be overwritten if someone makes another change.

    Just throwing it out there.

    Thanks!

In the meantime did you know that if you name the fonts you can put {White} and that will also work so that might be easier to remember than numbers. Naming them does not replace the numbers so both will then work. Also from version 7.0 you can also use material tags to change the face of a font so, for instance, {M:Chrome} would apply the material "Chrome" to the font assuming, of course, you have a material called Chrome.

I don't need to change the colour or material, what I do need is allow the newsroom folks to change the font styles. I will have to look into naming them, but I have lots of styles and they have different purposes throughout the project - numbers would probably be just as good

I would give the {1} or {2} method a go then as that will recall font styles. If they don't get on well with the numbers the I'd try the naming method.
