  • 1.  Upgrades, Side By Side Installs of XPression and rolling back versions

We are currently going through a process where for a period of time we will be upgrading some XPression engines from 5.7 to 6.1. We are using some studio space and our XPression scenes require 6.1+. We are hoping the the usual studio users will not have any issues continuing to use 6.1 and they shouldn't have to role back.
So first question is does anyone know of any issues they might face upgrading to 6.1?

Secondly if they do have issues and want to roll back is that an easy process? Are configurations going to be lost or will the update process have changed them in such a manner that they can't be used with older versions?

Is doing a side by side install of 5.7 and 6.1 going to be a better option then overwriting?

Any info or thoughts would be appreciated :)

    Thanks

All configuration is stored in the "c:\program files (x86)\XPression Studio" folder; so you can simply create a backup of that before upgrading.
You can have multiple version installed side by side as well; just install each to a different folder; but beware about which version all the desktop and start menu shortcuts are pointing to.
