For future reference I put this here. This might be very basic knowledge but I keep forgetting it.

    1. Makes some scenes with static text in them. Maybe duplicate one for convenience.

    2. Go to the Sequence and create a Scene Group in the Scene Manager. Drag the rigid text scenes into the Scene Group and you'll get an instant roll. NOTE: sometimes a Scene Group refuses to accept scenes. Delete it and make a new one.

    3. Click on the Scene Group once and go back to Layout. Make sure nothing is online in Sequence before you switch to Layout.

NOTE: you can set all the Crawl and Roll parameters in a Sequence Group too, but those are meant to crawl or roll scenes in a Sequence Group. This is something else than scenes in a Scene Group.

Some say you need to disable the blue continuous animation button in the Layout Main Viewport when crawls or rolls act strange. Not sure if that is true.

    5. Go back to Sequence and drag the Scene Group onto it and take it online. The texts should fly in at once and go into a smooth hold at the end. If you push numeric + after the hold, the movement continues. (optional)

    4. Select Crawl or Roll over at the Scene Group tab at the Object Inspector. Set the speed. 5 is nice for crawls. Uncheck Blank Page on End if you want to create a Hold or Pause at the end with your station copyright or whatever. Set Ease Out to 50 frs to get a smooth stop.

NOTE: You MUST have at least two scenes for a logo hold at the end: crawl text in scene1 and logo in scene2. Put spaces preceding the logo in scene2 so it sits in the middle of the screen.

NOTE: I MUST experiment with the number of Ease Out frames in combination with the scroll speed to ensure the logo can also go off screen after the last pause. If not, I will get shitty results and the end logo won't go off screen. Something is not right, but this seems to work for now. Often 50 frames ease out and speed 4 to 5.

HELP: It would be nice if anyone could explain why the behavior of the last crawl scene seems to be random?

If you have another down day, here is the project. A crawl that stops with ease when the logo appears. It will wait forever until you hit numeric enter. At high speeds it will fly off screen. However, when you crawl somewhat slower, you need to press numeric enter lots of times to get rid of the logo. (I tried blank pages, the setting treat last page as full which makes no sense whatsoever, etc.etc.)
