    What codecs does xpression take? Can it take .mov?

    .mov is a wrapper which can contain many different codecs. XPression can read .MOV files but most codecs are not suitable for realtime playback.

    It is *highly* recommended you convert the .MOV's to XPression Codec AVI's using the XPression Video Coder. The XPression video coder can read some types of MOV codecs including MJPEG, Prores, etc.

    We have a lot of files that were exported for Blackstorm server (exported from Final Cut Pro - Animation & DVCPro) The video codec transfer on Xpression doesn't recognize these to convert to AVI's.

    The Video Coder uses Quicktime to decode the file, so make sure quicktime is installed on the machine and can play back those files.

    The Quicktime Animation codec shouldn't have any problem converting.
