  • 1.  Background Videoclip play from the beginning in loop mode after Transition Out

    Hi!
    I couldn't manage to play background Video (in loop mode) from the beginning after other scene with Out Transition effect in cut mode (without take offline).
    The new scene start the Auto Start (of background video which is in Loop Mode with Auto Start and Free Running ) without "Wait for out effect"; the background and other elements from Scene director are not in sync anymore.
    As a second issue if the previous scene doesn't have a Out transition a short "glitch" (the null scene) is displayed for one frame.

    The "free running" option is used to indicate that a video should not restart when going between two scenes using the same video.

    Yes, it's OK, I want this because I want to use B2B.
    My issues are:
    - the Video start to play when the previous scene is taking the transition out (using other scene / other video) instead of start to play when the first scene start to play.
    - If the new scene has Intro scene and it cut the current scene (only background video without any intro/outro B2B scene) the "NULL" scene is diplayed for one frame (no text, but the middle frame of looped background).

    I'm using XPression Studio SCE v8.0 build4089

    Hmm... No answer.
    Maybe the video and file project example it will help to understand my issue.

    In the video I'm playing (on auto mode - 10 sec. for every item) scene 1 and 2 with transition logic for Transition In, Transition Out and back to back.

    Main issue:
    1. "NULL" scene is diplayed for one frame (no text, but the middle frame of looped background) if the scene has an intro in transition logic.
    2. If the Transition In is comming after one Transition Out, the background video start is advance and the video clip and scene elements are not in sync anymore.
    3. Time to time the loop (in this case should be a still) is not frame accure and display some frames around the value frame and the background is jumping around.

    Hello there,
    im having the same issue with videos running in free running, when we hit take, a random frame of the video is shown. We spoke with techsupport and they could recreate this issue in the lab,
    but we dont have any answers for this problem yet.

    Our XPression Project Specialist took a look at your project and had the following feedback:

  • Instead of having your Lower Thirds 1 In Transition videos "auto start" and "free running", I would keep those check boxes blank and I would consider putting the videos on the "Transition In" Scene Director . This will avoid the interference with the Transition Out Scene Director.

  • Make sure you set the default frame marker in the Transition In Scene Director to a point where the lower third is fully transitioned in. When you go back to back between Scenes the new Scene coming online goes to the default frame marker set in the Scene Director.

    1. Yes, I know I can put the clip in Scene Direct and to have a frame accure playback, but this is true only when the intro video is ending in still, if you have a nice loop you should use "Auto start" and "Free running". In my exemple I used a lower third without any continous loop animation just to see the issue and if you are playing around - manual take items from playlist, is easy to see my nr.3 issue - looping points are not accure.

    2. Yes, as you can see, my Default frame is set at the end of first Transition In scene. I don't know why is displayed in the first frame...
