  • 1.  Jump/Pause Events Behave Differently After Upgrade

We recently upgraded from Xpression Studio SCE 5 to 5.5 and now I have a keyframe animation that's not behaving the same way as it did before the upgrade. It's a simple graph with three different groups, each consisting of text and quad. Before the upgrade, group1 animated on and stopped and stayed in position (then there is an event that jumps to the position where the next group starts and pauses); then after the enter key is pressed, group2 animated on, etc. until all three groups are on the screen. After upgrading, group1 animates on then disappears before the pause happens, (enter) then group2 animates on then disappears. The jump/pause event now seems to be taking the group off just before it pauses. The event properties are: Actions: Jump to Frame 219 (Relative is unchecked); Play Options: is set to Pause (Reverse Direction and Auto. Resume are unchecked); Repeat: is set to 0 (Ignore Continue is unchecked); Execute when…: is set to Left & Right. When I remove the jump/pause events, the animation plays as intended and the groups stay onscreen, but without pausing. Any ideas on how I can fix my jump/pause events to behave as they did before?

You might just need to set the pause to "jump to frame 0 relative" and then add an event on the next frame that does a jump to the frame number for the next group..

It's hard to fully understand all the details though without seeing the scene..

Thanks for the suggestion. Separating the Jump and Pause into 2 events did not work. The items still disappeared when the jump happened. I was able to solve the problem by eliminating the jump events and moving the animation controllers closer together in the scene director track. I'm not sure why I was initially using the jumps, but it appears they are no longer necessary. Anyway, your suggestion put me on the right track. Thanks!
