    Hey Everyone-

We are finally getting around to setting up our Sony MVS 8000G to do Pbus triggering to the XPression. We have purchased an RS-422 to RS-232 powered converter. For whatever reason, we cannot get this to work. Does anyone else have the set up already? If so, could you share how you have your COM Settings on the Sony MVS Set up? Also, any other tips and points would be great.

I figure surely we aren't the first people to set this up.

    Thanks to all!

There was another user on the forums who is using it and started this topic linked below.

What brand of RS422 converter did you get? It may require a null modem on either the 422 side and/or the 232 side.
    I always recommend this B&B one: http://www.bb-elec.com/Products/Seri...rs/4WSD9R.aspx

We are going to try the null modem point you made, but the converter we have is very similar. We'll follow up with the results.

    Thanks!

I googled the pinouts, and it looks like you shouldn't need a Null Modem on the RS232 side; but on the 422 side you will need a custom cable as the sony uses Pins 2,3,7,8 and the converter uses Pins 1,2,3,4.
