  • 1.  Preview Thumbnail Issues

    Hey, everyone!

I'm having issues getting my thumbnail icons to match. It is further complicated by most of the elements being videos. I've created some roundabout fixes for that, but then I run into this.

Any suggestions on how I can get my preview frame to actually be consistent?

    Thanks

    Hello icingo44,

if your video is in "auto start" mode this can explain your issue : the playing of the video is not related to the timeline of a scene director and the position of the default preview marker.

If your "video material" is played only once at a time, you can attached it to a timeline by drag-and-droping it in a scenedirector's track.
The preview thumbnail should then be ok for this video .

Make sure the video material is not "auto start" .

FYI, the next major release of XPression (9.0) will include an option in the video shader to choose a "preview frame" for the video materials.

Hey everyone! Thanks for your input. I was able to apply Amignon's fix for all of my video file scenes, and it worked superbly! All of my videos were on auto play and not in the actual director. So, boom. Fixed.

As for my fullscreen templates, the fix would've been more complicated. So, I ended up exporting a still from the monitor, and placing it up for only one frame on the "in" Set that as my preview frame, and that did the trick. A goofy solution, but all my scene previews are looking/working great now.

    Thank you both again!
