Hey everybody, I've noticed this year quite a bit of discrepancy between a quicktime or normal avi render as opposed to the Xpression Codec when rendering from AE. Previously the codec has not let me down, always looking crisp, but something is different since I updated my Xpression software and AE software. I've attached a screen shot of a quicktime render on top and the Xpression codec render below. Settings are: Xpression Video Codec 6.5 build 3593; color sampling Normal (4:2:2), quality 80; Adaptive Bit rate control is checked.
*FIXED* After a bit of trial and error, adaptive bit rate is what was giving me the banding. Unchecking that solved the issues. It also doubled my render size but still a nice small file in general.
