  • 1.  Transition Logic, Lower third and .mov with alpha

    hi everyone

i'm trying to do a lower third using transition logic. i am using a .mov with alpha as the base for the lower third; basically using text and a few masks in xpression.

the lower third .mov is basically an animation that wipes in from offscreen.

but everytime i use the transition logic, the .mov always replays from the start.

    so if i have:

    In
    Out
    Change in
    Change out

if i play In, everythign works great
if i play Out, everything works great

if i play Change in, the text changes like it's supposed to, but the .mov plays from frame 0
if i play Change out, again, the .mov plays from frame 0

i have tried changing the video texture Run Mode to Looping and Play once, but nothing seems to work; the .mov either disappears completely or starts from frame 0

    what am i doing wrong?

    any help is appreciated

Hi. Transition logic will be help to You.
You make 4 Scene Directors with another story animation. And set Transition Logic how You want.

    Hi, Mlister.
If You use loop material, maybe change .mov material setting to Loop free raning and link with system clock, then this matertal will be in synchronization mode.

    Hey,

I can take a look at your scene if you like but my guess would be that you have your in animation set as "default" scene director. XPression will always try to play it. The easiest solution to this is to add a new scene director, leave it empty and set it as the new default by right clicking and setting the usage to "default". Also, you don't have to but I recommend naming it something like, "nothing", "empty" or "null".
