I'm trying to build some visual logic formulas, and I have not been able to see any values when I hover over the output dots of the function blocks (no matter which ones I try). I have even tried starting a new scene, and have done it exactly the way as shown on some of the Ross U tutorial videos, and even though everything is exactly the same as the tutorials (I recreated one to test my computer, and to see if I was doing something wrong), no values are displaying in the function block, even though there are values showing when I hover over the text block output dots. Is there a setting that I need to change in preferences, or something somewhere in Xpression so that the values display in the function block outputs, and I can verify if my formulas are working????

What am I missing?

HI Katherine, Are you just trying to get this working or are you wanting to send it to a text object? I've just set it up as you've screen shot and it works fine for me. (is it just this example that doesn't work or is it "visual logic" in general? (and what version of Xpression are you running?).

I'm actually trying to format some text blocks so that they space evenly, automatically depending on the size of the text fields. But I wasn't getting any output feedback, so I tried different things, and even duplicated what was supposed to work in Xpression based on the tutorials. So, Visual Logic does not seem to be working right on my machine. I believe we are using version 6.5, build 3600

Looking at your screen shots it seems as if VL is "seeing" the numbers in your text objects, I don't have the answer to why you're not seeing it on the other side of the block (someone wiser than me will know). In the meantime how about creating 2 text objects and use VL to send [text1] [text] to [text 2] [text]. That would be a really simple way of proving if VL is actually working or not. Check that VLogic1 (or whatever your tab is called) has the Enabled check box ticked.

Is your scene online and blue diamond on main viewport active ?

For some reason, it appears to be working today. Maybe the reboot fixed the problem? Weird....

Most likely the Blue Diamond was off. If the Blue Diamond is off Visual Logic doesn't run.
