    Hey all,

Is there a way to manipulate the alpha of a video material through animation? I just have a video material for an introduction I'm building and want to animate the last few frames to 0% alpha to bring it to our camera feed. If this is possible could someone explain it to me and preferably send me a definitive guide to figure out how to do this?

    Thanks!

    Hunter,

Are you already familiar with using key frames to create animations in XPression?

Make this alpha animation directly on source video...

My motion creator is telling me that there is static once they render it out to alpha. I said that but they are adamant that we can do it in XPression, which I didn't think it was possible from the get go. At least not simple, I assume.

Ah - I thought you meant changing the alpha (aka transparancy) of the object in XPression.

You are asking specifically about the alpha/key channel of the source video?

We can animate the alpha/transparancy of the object the video material is applied to - but we can't animate/manipulate the alpha/key channel of the source video.

That would need to be done in the original source video.

    To be really clear:

We were just able to recreate what we wanted in XPression.

    How did you do it?

We used the fade out transition at the end.

However, how do we animate the second alpha (object panel) in the screenshot above? That would be incredibly useful for us if possible.

Fade out transition in the Sequencer?

Just like how you key the X,Y,Z position/rotation values of an object you can keyframe the alpha as well.

If you're familiar with making key frame animation in XPression this should be pretty easy to include as well.

Awesome. Yeah, makes sense. I believe it was in the Sequencer.

Yeah, that was exactly what we did. Perfect.
