    Hey all,

If I have a render view, is it possible to edit the text within a render view material that is being used in another scene? Visual Logic, Scripting possible here?

Datalinq would be the easiest way. Just Datalinq the text in your renderview scene.

@garner I see where you're going but are the keys for that render view going to be available in the new scene I am taking those render views into?

Since the renderview scene is hardcoded into the material; you can access it via scripting. Just do a GetSceneByName("SceneName", scene, false) to get the pointer to the scene then you can change any text/data in it that you want..

Cool! And that's just a script I'll have to put on a single event in the Scene Director, no?

You'd probably be putting it in an OnSetText of a text object. So when an invisible text object in your online scene was was updated it would write to a text object in the renderview.

@garner, gotcha. The only thing I'm worried about is that I have over 14 text objects I would need to do this to I'm assuming. If you have some time could you walk me through it?

Yes. You'd have the same script in all 14 text objects. The only difference would be that each text object connects to a different text object in the renderview scene. XPression will easily handle this.

@garner I'm happy to hear it will be easily handled. However I'm not sure how to implement it. Could someone supervise walking through it?

Here's a sample project where you can edit a text object in a renderview from the invisible published text in the primary scene.
