Greetings - Looking to narrow a Daktronics issue we have been having since we bought our All Sport CG. We broadcast College Hockey, we run a single channel of Xpression with the latest version.

The issue we are having is that we are not able to view power play clocks from the scoreboard through the All Sport CG box and into Xpression. We are however, able to view the score, game clock, shots on goal, and period. However no data appears when there is a power play for the timer or the player number for the penalty. Thus we then have to add the scoreboard feed and crop the video to the power play.

Looking for guidance if this is an Xpression issue or All Sports CG issue or Daktronics scoreboard issue at the venue we broadcast from.

Arena scoreboard is Daktronics All Sport 5000 Series Console (MFG. Date: 05/06/09) REV: 02

The daktronics protocol is an ASCII protocol which is human-readable.. so what I would suggest is to shutdown datalinq and launch hyperterminal. Set the port settings in hyperterminal to the correct values for the daktronics (9600 baud, no parity, I think). Then get the scoreboard guys to start a powerplay and see if you can see the powerplay clock in the data coming in to hyperterminal. The penalty number/clocks should start around the 20th character of data in each packet as it comes in.
