  • 1.  Datalinq feed not updating crawl text

I've created a project that uses a crawl where each text item in the crawl is a separate scene, and within each scene there is a text object that is using a Datalinq based on an excel workbook. I load the crawl out of my XPression, and it plays each scene in sequence, and in between each scene I have another scene that has a logo that appears, and separates each text item in the crawl.

I edited my Excel file, and removed one of the entries, as it was no longer needed in the crawl. My issue involves editing my Excel file, and that the scenes in my crawl are not updating the text they are tied to via the Data Source setup. I've included a screen grab to help explain how this is setup. You'll see that the row number in the datalinq tab isn't equal to the actual row number (column B) on the Excel file, which leaves the text taking it's information from the row that it was setup assigned to when it was initially setup. If the Datalinq updated it's content each time the project was open, then any changes I make to the Excel file, before I open the project, would update upon open. Am I missing a step here, or is this not a function available in the setup I've created here? Thanks

I'm not sure I understand. Row 72 of Datalinq is showing the data that is in Row 72 of the excel sheet?
I see you've got the 'B' column with a different number, but that's not going to change the way the excel sheet itself is formatted.

What you are seeing is correct. I've created the B column as a way to quickly reference which row number I needed to enter as the Datalinq's row entry. The actual row number in the Excel spreadsheet is not equal to the row value the Datalinq needs, as my list of vendors actually begins at row 2 in the Excel sheet. Based on the way I've set it up, Papa Pauly's Pizza should be displayed as the text for that scene, and instead Turner Variety appears. When I originally created the crawl, row 72 (B Column) was Turner Variety. The last time I updated my vendor list, I removed a row earlier into the spreadsheet, and with that Turner Variety was then pushed up to row 71 (B Column). The issue occurs because the scene isn't updating it's text information based on the changes made to the Excel sheet, and if it had updated then the text in the screenshot I've provided would read the location info for Papa Pauly's Pizza for row 72, instead it's still showing Turner Variety. Does that make a little more sense?
