  • 1.  Visual Logic - disable visibility with value change

    Posted 09-04-2015 19:10
I'm working on TV Bingo graphics, and with that I'm trying to setup my scene so that when the value of the bingo number called (and changed), the subsequent value in my grid of numbers would change visibility in order to reveal the same number value below in the grid, which would indicate that that bingo number has been called. This is a little ambitious for someone with my lack of Xpression experience, so I'm hoping someone in the forum could offer some advice on how best to achieve this. Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure I understand exactly what you want to do, but if you add a hidden text object to your scene and then in the Visual Logic editor, link its "Text" parameter block to the "Alpha" parameter block of the object/image you want to hide or reveal---this might get you started.

Thanks James, I'll see if what you've suggested will fit the bill for what I'm attempting to do. Ultimately i'd like to have my graphics operator enter a text value for the bingo ball being called, and at the same time, on the same page, have the number equivalent, within a grid of numbers (1-75), disappear and reveal the same number, with a different face colour. The revealing number would allow viewers keep track of which numbers have been called within the bingo game they are playing. Does this make my explanation a little clearer? I'm hoping with the power of Visual Logic, and the simplicity of the task I'm attempting to do, one of the more experienced folks on the forum can come to my rescue. Thanks again for your assistance!

You can use a group in sequencer in mode "Data Page" (not manual or automated). Put your scene in this group, then change a value and "put it on air".
You'll see "applied" and your second ball is updated.

If a take item is online and you change the number you can update it on air by taking it again. Select the online take item, and hit enter on the numpad, or just double click the online take item. You don't have to take it offline to do this.

    For data pages:
    - create 2 groups in sequencer
    - add your scene to one group
    - add your scene 8 times (or as many times as you want to update) to the second group, and update each take item with different numbers (or any content)
    - set second group to be data page
    - bring scene in first group online
    - bring scenes online in the second data page group and it will apply the different

    It will look like this:
