  • 1.  Transition through Carbonite

Hi all! I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction to create a way to trigger a transition GFX on Xpression from Carbonite. I have a graphic transition built in Xpression, but it would be great if there was a way to make a macro or media transition that I could just trigger from carbonite. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks

I apologize that I don't specifically know how, but I know that it is possible. You can program macros through the Carbonite menu, but programming them through Dashboard is much easier in my opinion. Try digging around Dashboard.

I've done it. Basically, you need to have the XPression machine set up as a Rosstalk device on the Carbonite. Then you need to create a macro on the Carbonite that takes the take item on XPression. You can tell it what take id to use, and which layer or channel to use. While recording the macro, you can select the XPression input, then press NEXT a couple of times to get to the screen where you can specify the take id, etc.

In your macro, you will need to add a pause before the cut to make sure that your cut happens under the fullscreen portion of the transition.
