hi guys,
i am wondering how the masking features work. I have have a scene with about 5 different masks, and they work great in the Main ViewPort; but do not work in the sequencer? why would this be?

where does the layer object need to be in the heirarchy? if i have a bunch of elements that i place into a group object, can i then drop the mask object underneath it?

any help is appreciated

Can you post a copy of the scene you're having an issue with?

thanks for your response...
i thought the issue might be my sequence layers, but it wasn't....

again, when i view in the viewport all the masking is great, even when i view thru the Virtual Output (Not in the sequencer) it works...but once in the Sequencer none of the masking works in the virtual output....

any help is appreciate....thx

I added keyframes for your masks to the Change Out animation. If you don't keyframe them, then they wont be rendered on the outgoing scene in transition logic (because you have the checkbox set to Render Animated Obects Only).

hi bford, i appoligize for making your life miserable. i created another sample of the masking not working; it's almost exactly the same structure, (in out and change animation)....i added keyframes to the change out animation....all the masks work, except one? why would that be? i'm just trying to understand this, once i do, i won't be bothering you.

i added a the sample file...everything works except for that one header is not masked.

As far as I can tell you don't actually have a mask that hides the title bar as it slides down. You simply have it sliding down behind the cell_1 object (which will not get rendered on the outgoing scene during the transition logic).
