So scene groups start to roll automatically. Plus the first screen can be a static background.

I put a small MOV logo animation in the first scene so it stays put. That works!

The second scene contains the text. I wanted the text to wait a bit before rolling. I faked it by typing lots of empty lines. The field Wait xx frames does nothing. What is wrong?

I want the last line to freeze. Where is that option?

You can add an Event Marker (from the object library) to the scene and position it such that when the event marker becomes shown it can pause or stop the crawl for a set duration of time.

So in which scene must it sit? The top of the scene group or the scene that contains the text?
I had no success in either one.
A yellow E pops up but it doesn't do a thing.

The event marker goes in the child scenes, not in the Scenegroup. So each child scene that should pause the crawl/roll would have it's own event marker.

Event Marker > On Show/Hide > Mode Change > Pause > Delayed Action > Resume Playing

It sounds like you want a ticker. This you need to build differently using animations and masks.

Have a look at this project. Obviously the crawl you'll already understand but have a look at the script in the Scene Group > Scene Director and the script in the child scenes. This is basically waht you're after. This may be a little convoluted to get you started so if I get a moment I'll build you something simipler.
