I am trying to create a new virtual set graphic for my news station. I need to make it so the news department can change what image is being placed onto the graphic (through template links). Is there a way to make whatever image they put in there visually reflect onto the virtual set?

I am using xPression Designer v6.5 build 3686

i think the best way is to duplicate your layer that you are going to use image . scale -100 in y axis and change your alpha...... as per my knowledge here is no automatic reflection in xpression , no raytraced reflection ... you can achinve using this trick .......

You can use visual logic to make the reflection quad use whatever is selected for the graphic. Just use the face of the graphic and link it to the face of the reflection.

    That worked. Thank you!

Ok Here's another one for you: After I made the image reflection, I realized that I didn't do it correctly in order to make it look like a mirror image. When I try to flip the quad the correct way, it just shows a black image. ( the backside of the quad.) I want to be able to keep it user controlled meaning that whatever image the user puts it it will show up as a reflection rotated the correct way. Thanks!

If you double click on the reflection quad there is a setting to set the quad as "Double Sided". Hope that works.

I tried to do what you said and it wouldn't let me double click on the quad. However when I applied a material to the quad it let me flip it. However, that is not what I want. I need to be able to flip the quad with no material on it, because I am trying to make a template that will reflect whatever image the user puts in onto the "floor".

Oh, I see. So you can go to the transform tab for your reflect quad and set the Y at -1.00. That will vertical flip the quad giving you a reflection look. Anything you use for your main image should now automatically look correct in your reflection.

Here is the result. It reflects it horizontally but not vertically. (the reflection is pointing in the opposite direction.) Unless there is another way to flip the quad, it looks like it's not going to be possible to make the empty quad and still be able to make it a template.

Strange, transforming it on the Y axis should of given you the correct result. If its pointing the wrong way then just transform it on the X axis also.
