I have a scene with transition logic set up to play a back to back animation when the scene is the same. There is a scene director for the in animation and one for the out animation. However, when I test the scene in sequencer, the out animation does not play; it just cuts off. But then the in animation will play for the incoming scene. I must be missing something simple, but can't see it.

I have other scenes whose back to back animations work and I seem to have set them up similarly. Thanks for any suggestions you might have.

The easiest way to help is if you could make the scene available. However I have had a problem like this. In my OUT scene director I had the "time cursor" at the end of my director. As soon as I moved it to the beginning of the animation it worked fine.

Depending what options you configured on the transition logic, the outgoing scene will only render objects that are keyframed.  So it's possible you have an object that is not keyframed and therefore not being rendered on the outgoing scene.  If you have an object that does not need to animate, but you do need it to render, just add a dummy keyframe on it.

Also, open up the live log and take the 2nd scene and you can see what Rule both the incoming and outgoing scenes are choosing to use, and thus you can see if the outgoing scene is playing the correct scene director.

As Malcolm said though, we could help you much more if you post a copy of the scene and I can tell you where you're going wrong.

Thank you for your responses. I agree that it would be much easier if you could see the scene. I'm linking to a project with just the scene in question

The animation I'm using is called B2B OUT v2 for both the B2B IN Scene Director and B2B OUT Scene Director. It is keyframed. Below is a screenshot of the Live Log. So it is recognizing the B2B condition, but I'm not seeing it say what scene director it is playing. Any additional insight would be helpful. Thank you.

We figured it out. I had a background layer that I needed to keyframe out at the beginning of the OUT animation and keyframe back in at the beginning of the IN animation so that they transition with the other materials could occur without being covered up by the background.

Sweet, I just downloaded the scene and was trying to get it to run on my mac parallels desktop running 8.6 and it was gagging. Good to hear you got it.
