  • 1.  Can I script to trigger a group to play 48 hours away?

I am trying to trigger a group to play more than 24 hours away from start time. (so the timed start won't work)

We use the Xpression to do a 24/7 playout at an unmanned station.

At certain points I play a sequence on Layer 1 and a second sequence at the same time on layer 2.

I use a timed sequence less thank 24 hours after activation to play an empty graphic on layer 2 to remove that top sequence.  So I can figure out how to STOP a sequence there by revealing the next sequence needed.

Is there a way to START a sequence and have it loop so that I don't need to have several groups playing at the same time?

I'm starting to use Visual logic.. and I read something about using visual logic to trigger a scene.. maybe it could trigger a group?... but I don't understand how that would work.

We don't have Rosstalk set up yet so we can't use that (if that's even a possibility).

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If all is working well for you, you can trigger the group to play back by simply using the take ID of the group, instead of an individual scene take ID.

I haven't used any time delay to schedule playout, so there may be other ways, but you may be able to set up a delay using a dashboard button with a really long pause built in (whatever 48 hours is in milliseconds/seconds) and just hit the dashboard button 48 hours prior to desired playback time. This would require you to have RossTalk setup, but this is super easy to configure.

Just go to this Ross University video: https://youtu.be/toWNSSJuFZQ at about 4:35. It shows you the few simple steps to configure RossTalk.
