  • 1.  Velocity control when animating?

I was asked by a client today to add velocity to the animation. They sent me the After Effects file and it was basically built like this... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6YmIT7XFIsU

For example on a lower third, it animates fast in the beginning and then slows down a bit.

Is something like this possible in Xpression?

While I don't think you can do it with footage like AE is, you can certainly ease keyframes via the keygraph editor. I think maybe version 8 or 8.5 added bezier handles that you can drag on your own rather than number based easing. Simply select the keyframe, then the easing method will open up and you can select based on your preference. For a fast then slow, I always used a TCB interpolation, the inframe is -2 and the outframe 1 in the tension.
