I have a project that was created in Xpression 3.2, then packaged and redeployed after we upgraded to version 5. I never had a problem with it in v3.2, but since we started using v5 Xpression sometimes becomes unresponsive after clicking on a widget. The project uses 4 widgets, two are counters and the crashes happen when clicking on a the button that increases the amount of the counter. After clicking, the widget button appears to stay pressed, and Xpression is unresponsive. I am able to close out the program and when I re-open it, everything usually works as expected. I can't seem to make the crashes happen -- they are random.

I thought it might be a problem caused by upgrading the project from an earlier version, so recreated it in v5, imported the scene from the old project and then created new widgets. Unfortunately, the same problem occurs with the widgets in the rebuilt project. Should I try completely rebuilding the project from scratch -- not importing the old scene? Does anyone have other ideas for fixing it? Are widget problems common?

Is there any scripting involved in the scene?

No scripting. The scene is a scoreboard that has two team names, two scores and an analog clock graphic that roughly shows the amount of time left in the game. The only unusual thing about this scene might be the simple but very long animation simulating a clock hand that rotates for 24 minutes and 30 seconds.

    Melinda,

Can you contact Ross Video Tech Support and send that scene? Just import it into a new project with only that scene and then export it as an XPP.

    Thanks

    Hi Arshad,
There's something very similar to an analog clock in this project that should help you get started. It's built using Visual Logic.

Is the computer you are using XPression on set the 24hr time? The clock widget gets the time from the computer. So if the computer is in 24hr the widget will be. Switch your PC to 12hr time.
