  • 1.  upgraded to 4.0, wiped out datalinq info.

    Just as the topic says, I upgraded to 4.0 and while doing so it wiped out all my datalinq settings i had for all my shows. When installing I had everything checked, including datalinq.

    When I upgraded my 2nd machine I unchecked Datalinq so it wouldn't wipe it out but not only did it wipe the data out it wouldn't let me add new datalinq entries.. the ADD was grayed it.. i reinstalled 4.0 and checked datalinq this time and it still wouldn't let me ADD so I had to install 3.7, then 4.0 to get datalinq working but still wiped out old data :(

    No question here just a warning...

    This is the first instance of such an event I have heard reported for a version 4 upgrade. No XPression upgrade should change any settings. The Datalinq configuration file is not written to at all during an upgrade.

    What Datalinq setting did you lose? The list of data sources in the Datalinq server?

    Please feel free to contact me at gmillward@rossvideo.com and we can see if we can locate the Datalinq configuration file and investigate why you are having problems added data sources.

    THanks for the reply Garner.. I lost every entry I had for RSS Feeds, ACCESS databases, ect.. it would be nice to find that original config file if it's floating around somewhere on the machine.

    To clarify, I"m not having any more problem adding sources, once I downgraded to 3.7 and then back to 4.0 I was able to add.

    Thought we had the same problem. After installing the first time I ran datalinq it was missing everything. Closed the program and rebooted the computer. When the program restarted it had all of our data. Hope its the same for you.

    Hi Richie.. nope.. i rebooted, restarted numerous times.. on one machine you can see the 10 names of the datalinq connections I created but there is nothing in the Source column. I think the Type column is accurate though..
