  • 1.  Datalinq can't connect to online data source from our office? (internet proxy issue?)

    Posted 05-08-2019 04:31

We have player data hosted online but when we try to add the data source URL the connection fails (times out.) We tried pulling the BBC RSS feed and that also failed. We thought it might an internet problem but both URLs load when typed into the browser. So our broadcast guy went home and loaded up Xpression and everything connected FINE -- which leads us to believe Xpression is getting tangled up in our office network. I found another thread where someone mentions that Xpression cannot go through a proxy. I don't completely understand that, but if this is the issue, what do I or my IT guys have to do to get Xpression to connect to my data source? thanks

Each datalinq source can be configured to use a proxy individually. So the BBC RSS feed in Datalinq Server would have it's own proxy configuration separate from the Player data feed in Datalinq Server.

Do you have a proxy that you can use?

(Also I was the guy helping Keith and testing the RSS feeds)

Hi Garner. Thanks for responding. It took us a while but we finally figured out that we needed to go through a proxy and that we needed a port number from our IT person.
