  • 1.  NBA stats via NGSS instead of DTVI

    Posted 06-11-2019 18:04

Has anyone had success parsing and displaying stats from an NGSS feed from the NBA so the operator can look for the most important stats to choose from? We are making the change and I want the operator to be able to see several choices of possibilities. A dashboard will replace the DTVI interface. Data is in the form of xml. Several pages are saved locally and accessed there. The data interface to Xpression is already solved but not the display of all stats either in a dashboard or on a non-rendered group on Xpression page. Does anyone have any suggestions?  We have "Summer League" coming up and I think this will be a good test. Thanks as always.

Are you using the XPression Datalinq NBA NGSS Data Source or the XML Data Source?

XPression 8.5 includes native support for NGSS stats.

    Garner,

Yes we are all prepped for that. I just want to try and display stats on a dashboard in a way my operator can select the more relevant stats. We have been spoiled to a certain extent with the DTVI user interface that displays all players and most of the stats so the operator can pick and choose the stats to display.

Jumping on this thread, but wondering if there is a way to get stats from NGSS without using DTVI and without using the native support? We are on Xpression 7.0, and seeing if there is a way to access that data through an XML file. If this is possible, how do you go about doing it?

    Aric,

I do know that datalinq stores the xml files locally but it's a ton of data to wade through. Last spring I was setting ours up (Incorrectly) and was trying to data mine the xml files stored locally. It kind of works. However, I think the NBA is changing their data feed so Ross will have to modify/upgrade datalinq. So it might just be academic to try and come up with a way to do it.
