Datalinq Server: ADODB vs EXCEL as a selection

Why do most user choose to use the ADODB dropdown vs the premade Excel dropdown when selecting a file type? Also can you link to Google Docs?

The ADODB is much more feature rich. It treats the XLS file as a database and allows SQL queries to be made.
It is also much more stable, and faster. The XLS file can be on a shared network drive where it is modified by a remote producer.
ADODB does not require Excel to be on the machine, whereas the Excel datalinq does require Excel to be running.

The ADODB is also more similar to how other competitor CG's have integrated with Excel doc's so it is more familiar to those users.

I always recommend ADODB over Excel.

The only way I could get Google Sheets to work was to publish it as a webpage, (it does auto refresh every 5 minutes) and then bring it back in as a data in Excel. It's a long way around, but it worked for me.

Still having problems with ADODB and my Excel file. I did use this video:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Jr1lbTR6kk&list=PLfSczupBVAqhnhnkMcJuhI8Tg3RVJFN2o&index=78&t=0s
But I get an Error "Frailer: Provider cannot be found. It may not be properly installed"
    What needs to be re-installed?
We had many problems with Elections and choking the XPerssion using the Excel Datalinq
    (No Florida jokes please)

Make sure you install the 32bit version of the Access Database Engine that Vinz linked to.

Okay, so I have it installed and working. How is this any different that just using the Excel Datalinq?

It still seems to be choking Xpression. Performance is running at an average of 75% and will hit 120+ when updating. Graphics are shuddering.
