Broadcasting college student here with a pressing question. I’ve imported an animated lower third clip designed in After Effects into XPression through the Video Coder, and have set the material to a quad. The video includes an animation in, an animation out, and a static portion in the middle to loop. I’ve tried for hours to understand how to tell XPression which parts of the animation are which, so that it will animate in when I take it on air, stay static while on the air, and animate out when I’m done. The XPression U tutorials seem to be missing steps explaining this. Would anybody here be able to walk a moderately experienced user through this process from start to finish? Unfortunately I’m on a weekend-long deadline and feeling the pressure. Thank you in advance.

Hi Ben, 

With your animation sitting static between the in transition and the out transition, why don't you try this. Open the Scene Director for your scene. Drag the animation from the Media Manager, onto a track in your Scene Director, then add a "Pause" event to the frame where your animation's IN transition ends. If you don't need the animation to continue to play out, then the pause will see your animation hold until you hit the TAKE key on your keyboard again. If the number of frames between your IN transition and the OUT transition of your animation isn't too long, then the rest of the animation will play out and take your scene offline. If you do have a longer animation, as in my picture below, then you may want to add an "Event" to your scene director to have the play-head of the Scene Director's timeline jump to the frame just before your OUT transition starts. If you need assistance setting that up, let me know. If you want to share your project, I can set this up in your Scene Director as well.
