Hi,

Recently i was browsing through all Xpression installers we have and found we have Xpression Project Server software.

At our News Broadcaster we have 3 Xpressions installed and live, 1 Xpression for backup in case one of the others dies.

On these Xpressions we have similar Project folders with their projects.

Right now if one project is altered, we have to distribute the changed files and folders to the other Xpressions by hand.

I Was wondering if Xpression Project Server can be more useful in this situation?

Can Xpression Project Server software be Installed on just any decent computer of do i need a dedicated machine supplied by Ross?

Indeed, the Project Server is used especially for distributing projects across multiple servers.

So if you have a design team which creates the projects, the can publish the project to the project server.

Whenever a user needs a specific project, he can look for a project on the project server and deploy it from within his XPression.

I don't know if there are any specific requirements for the hardware, but it's basically a storage-unit, so you would only need sufficient storage space.

However I don't know if there is a specific license needed to be able to run the project server software.

Please also note that this centralised server can also be used to setup a centralised Datalinq Server so that all XPressions can connect to the same Datalinq Server.

Or it can also be used to host the NLE-plugin for example.
