  • 1.  Perspective Camera Moving When Not Selected

    Posted 01-20-2021 10:44

I have had an issue recently when editing in XPression regarding perspective cameras moving when I slide my fingers on the touchpad of my laptop. This move happens when I have my pointer over another area of the window (materials or layers) and *do not* have the camera selected.

For example, I will want to scroll down on the materials window, so I will slide my fingers, and the view in the window will change as the perspective camera is moved when I slide my fingers. This move is often to an extreme distance (like 100,000+).

Because "undo" essentially is useless in XPression, I am then required to exit out of the project w/o saving & reopen it to get the camera back to the right spot.

This happens randomly & is very aggravating. Is there any solution to this, or should I just never edit w/ a touchpad?

I don't know about trackpads---I avoid them like the plague, but if you keyframe the position of your perspective camera, you could bump the scene director to get it back where it should be.

You can then put that animation on a key bind if you wanted effectively creating a home for your camera.

Undo does work on items in the transform tab so undo should move the camera back to it's previous position.

I use a trackpad a lot and have not seen this issue, I am trying to recreate it, what version are you on?
