  • 1.  Basic lower third in/out with a pause between?

    Posted 01-12-2021 03:54
Hello, I want to do a basic lower third fly on and fly off with a pause trigger in between. I created a fly in scene director and a separate fly off scene director. My issue is how they connect and where to insert a pause trigger. Pretty basic stuff, but I’m stuck! Appreciate any guidance.

    Hi!
Just if you have active transition logic option you need to create 2 separated scenes in Scene Director.
If you just want to create a pause, you need just one scene and add a pause in the middle of timeline (right click to an empty track in Scene Director > Add Clip > Event Pause).

    Have FUN!

Thanks for the info!  Just to clarify, I'd need to build:

1 Scene DIrector with an In animation

1 Scene Director with an Out animation

1 Scene DIrector with a pause?

So the one scene has 3 SD's just to animate in, pause and animate out?  Anything else I need to do for it to work correctly in the sequencer?  Do I need them arranged in the operating order in the Scene Director menu?  Also, someone mentioned something about marking the Scene Directors - what's that about?

Once the animation is build, I just drag it ito the sequencer and it will know which animation to play and when, while pausing for the trigger in between?  Thanks for the help!

    Only one scene.

Great! But if using transition logic, the in, out and pause have to be on separate scene directors?

If you are using transition logic you need an in and out only, the pause is handled by XPression. You'll also need an empty scene director to be your default. These videos explain how to get started.
