  • 1.  Material Face not updating when set to DataLinq in Sequencer

    Posted 12-29-2020 20:35

So... In DashBoard I have a table of the current league standings from our hockey league.
The table contains the names of the teams, games played, wins, and so on.
It also contains a relative URL to the logo of said team.

So, if I now set up a scene in Xpression where we have a visual representation of said standings. I set the names, points, games played etc to static text, just to do the design etc.
I also set the logo for each team to be a static placeholder so I can design around that.

Then, after the design and animations are done etc, I go into sequencer, drag the scene in, and set the different published areas to contain said values through DataLinq.
The text areas work just fine! They do and behave exactly as I had hoped they would! If I choose another league or the table is changed, the data shown in the text fields are correct.

    HOWEVER...

The team logoes are static and stuck to the placeholder. Changing the material face in sequencer to look for a DataLinq value, it even shows the correct image path in the <> field in the sequencer, yet the actual image shown in the preview and when taken online, is just the placeholder from before.

    Suggestions?

Update: Figured I might as well try on the Graphite at the arena we use Xpression...

Surprise, it works there for some reason, so I guess I would like to report a bug in XPression Designer (at least in the version mentioned above, not sure it's the same in newer versions).

But yeah, it work on Graphite, XPression Studio SCE v9.0 build 4842 (64 bit) - [Tessera Single Engine]

    Well... Or so I thought!
Simple restart of Xpression and it stopped working...
I'd like to say that this clearly doesnt work as intended...
