    Hello there,

We have a PNG images sequence we would have to deliver to Xpression on very regular basis (twice a day, actually).

Playing the sequence directly is not a suitable option, as Xpression goes very loaded and slow. So we have to transcode to video.

In order to automate this job, here are a few questions:

    * I'm very surprised to see that Xpression is not able to import .mp4 H264 files as Material. Is it related to QuickTime installation?

    * Is Xpression Codec available in scriptable apps like FFMPEG or Telestream Vantage?

    * Alternatively, is Xpression Video Coder software able to be controled through command lines? So I would write a batch file.

Thank you very much for your feedback,
    Julien

Some more info: so far, I've been able to encode the images into a .avi file Xpression is OK to import :

    ffmpeg -y -framerate 10 -i c:\test\sat%02d.png -codec mjpeg -r 25 c:\test\satellite_mjpeg.avi

But performance is soooooo poor, although it's just a 8 Mb MJPEG file!

We have the Xpression codec running on our Vantage farm. There's a separate installer available through the support channels.

Thanks Adam, I guess this is the best way to go. I'll get in touch with the support team.
