  • 1.  Rundown Manager Recommendations

Currently, we are running XPression with no rundown manager. As you could imagine it's a tedious process, however we plan on upgrading to a full rundown manager in the near future. In the past I have personally used iNews, and thought it performed very well. I'm wondering if there are any other recommendations for a rundown manager that is fully integrated with XPression, maybe if anyone has any experience with Inception.

Currently we use Rundown Creator, a free application online which on don't think can directly connect to XPression.

Any recommendation are very much appreciated.

    Thanks

We are currently using Inception. In the past (last summer) we used QSeries. With both programs, the rundown events (CGs) are populated into the Sequence view, and I go through hitting Take Next to go from one CG to the next.

I found it confusing because there is no indication given as to commercial breaks, as there was with QSeries's software, so I created dummy templates and put them into the commercial breaks so that they would show up on the Xpression sequence.

We do not use Xpression Rundown Controller however.

Hey!  Addison from Rundown Creator here.  We just launched some new XPression integration that you might be interested in.  You can learn more about it here, but basically what it allows you and your team to do is insert information for lower-thirds, fullscreen graphics, over-the-shoulder boxes, and more into Rundown Creator, then play them out with a single key press from the XPression sequencer. It's all real-time, so any changes made in Rundown Creator show up instantly in XPression.  It works with all versions of XPression and doesn't require any special options.  Happy to answer any questions you might have!
